Fibro Roofs
Common problems associated with this roof are:
- Hairline or cracked sheets
- Exposed asbestos fibres
- Cracked hips
- Cracked and or broken bedding and pointing
- Porous sheeting (original coating break down)
- Mould growing in the porosity of the tile
What steps are taken to rectify the above prior to coating?
Due to the asbestos content of Fibro roofs, it is important the correct specified products are used to seal and encapsulate the asbestos. We use a highly effective system of treating the roof which penetrates the sheeting and kills off the mould and the mould spores. Cracked sheets are repaired using a mesh and membrane waterproofing and rebuilding system. All repairs are carried out.
The Coatings Available
Protective Coatings
Following the restoration work the roof has one coat of clear sealer coat applied to the Fibro. This coat acts as a key coat which seals off the sheets to eliminate porosity. We then follow this with two coats of protective roofing paint. We use only top quality products that have been designed specifically for roofing applications. Available in all colours to suit the decor of your home.
Thermoshield Insulation Coatings
Following the restoration work, the roof has one coat of clear sealer coat applied to the surface. This coat acts as a key coat which seals off the Fibro to eliminate the porosity. We then follow this with two coats of Thermoshield Insulation Coating.
